|OK But the finish was not as nice as I expected
by: Scott Schifter from: Alexandria, VA on: May 9, 2013
| ||We were disappointed in the finish, it needed a lot of sanding and oil treatment to be usable.

| ||I love the look the wood counter tops give to my kitchen. I have them either side of the oven on 12x24 white cabinets.I'm a first time shopper at kitchensource
|Just what I wanted
by: Arthur from: Tucson, AZ on: March 15, 2013
| ||Although it took a little longer to get here (CT to AZ) than I anticipated, that is probably my fault for not reading all the description. The top was larger than I needed but the 1/2 inch test cut on a table saw provided a nice back piece. The 3 1/2 inch remaining cut when sectioned and glued together makes a great cutting board for a friend. I am very happy with my purchase.

| ||I was impressed with the turn around time, especially since I ordered in Dec.
They came packaged very well and have a great look to them. Glad I got the Varnique finish. I was a bit disappointed that there isn't a Boos logo anywhere on these pieces, makes me think it's not really Boos.

| ||Bought a small cupboard and wanted a butcher block top, this fits the bill very nicely. Would reccommend it to others.
Can you tell me the difference between the oil and varnique finish? Is the varnique more durable/require less maintenance?
Thank you - Asked about product JB-OKTBL09A-V
| ||Varnique finished tops cannot be cut on while, Oil finished tops are extremely durable work surfaces that allow you to prepare & cut food directly on the surface however they require regular oiling.
Here is a great link outlining the differences in-depth and helpful tips for buying on Butcher Block or Kitchen Island:

|Is this counter piece square edges the same on all for edges? - Asked about product JB-OKTBL07-V
| ||Our edges are almost square on the KCT tops. They will have a slightly eased edge. We just take the sharpness off. The top is finished the same on all four sides.
