This 1-1/2" thick John Boos Blended Red Oak Island Top is made of American red oak with an edge-grain construction, the island tops have full-length rails for an upscale look. The blended tops have butt joints and color variations and the rails do not run the full length of the countertop. The random color finger-jointing construction adds a rustic feel to your kitchen. The island tops are available in depths of 30”, 32”, 36”, 38” and 42”, and in 36", 42", 48", 60", 72", 97", 121" and 145" widths to fit any kitchen island. Available in oil or in optional Varnique finish.

  my butcher block island top is georgous, the only problem was the estimated delivery weight. the estimated weight was supposed to be 199lbs the actual weight was 347lbs. so make sure you have enough help to unload and get inside.product is a 38"x 121"

 We love the island. It did have a small nic on the side from shipping. We had to sand it down. No biggie. The care instructions for the top could be a little better. we googled care of a butcher block top and got great info. We bought some mineral oil from Bed bath and Beyond to oiled daily for the first week, then once a week after that. The oil penetrated but where we live the top dries out fater. We went to Walmart and bought mineral oil there that is 99.9% mineral and added that to the top and it works a lot better. Even though the mineral oil says to use for a laxative. we have a really nice surface now and it is not drying out. Also when you google the maintenance tips there are great tips to fix the splintering of the wood. great deal. Kitchensource was the cheapest and I am very happy.
