These De Foyer butcher block work tables from John Boos have a Cream finished, 5-inch thick, end-grain top made of American Cherry and a black base. Each work table has a dovetailed drawer and a slatted lower shelf for extra storage.

If you are looking for a quality accent piece with a purpose, you have found it.The cherry is very thick and heavy, this is no light weight! The shipping bill says over three hundred pounds and they are not kidding.Great buy!
Robust, utilitarian, and beautiful! by: Kirby Carmichael from: Pacifica, CA on: March 8, 2011
The John Boos Block de Foyer is patterned with 5" thick, end-grain cherry blocks of 1-1/2"x1-13/16" dimension. End-grain is easy on knives and self-healing - that is, if you dare actually use it to cut on. This 3'x2'x34"-tall butcher block with its solid maple legs and smooth-sliding utility drawer is almost too lovely to risk a knife on. The block arrived via truck heavily packaged in cardboard and styrofoam. It was heavy, but two people easily bolted the legs and shelf on. The drawer is built into a solid-maple rectangular frame which comes attached to the bottom of the cherry block.
Expensive, sure - but if you replace an entire 36" base cabinet with it in a remodel - like we did - the price works itself out. It slides easily away from the wall to provide space for a second cook in our very small kitchen. Best purchase we've made in years.

Impressive piece of fuctional artwork by: Michael Bernacchi from: LaPorte, IN on: December 3, 2009
We just finished a $30,000.00 remodeling of our kitchen - but there was something missing. The John Boos Chopping Block is the answer. It's an amazing impressive accessory - it's like a functional piece of artwork. I highly recommend this product.
