General Information:
Recessed Cabinetry have been designed for an easy Do-It-Yourself installation. Under most circumstances, the installation can be done with very little effort and time to achieve a beautiful built-in cabinet for years of enjoyment.

Please follow these guidelines to insure an easy installation:

• Recessed Cabinetry are designed to be installed in interior walls only. For exterior wall installation please contact customer service for assistance.
• Plumbing pipes and heating ducts will interfere with cabinet installation. When you determine the desired location for installation, carefully verify if there is a bath room or kitchen on the opposite side of the wall which may indicate that pipes or ducts might be present.
• Electrical, telephone and cable TV wires can be pushed back behind the cabinet to avoid interference or they can be rerouted over the top of the cabinet location.
• If the wall is not weight bearing, studs can easily be removed or relocated to position the cabinet where you want it. Consult with a qualified building inspector prior to cutting or removing a stud.

Installation Procedure:

Step 1: Shut off the circuit breakers that control power and lighting to the room your working on as well as the room on the opposite side of the wall. Using a stud finder locate the studs in the wall where the cabinet will be installed. Pass the stud finder over the entire area where the cabinet will be install to locate any obstructions. (See figure #1) Drill a pilot hole in the center of cabinet location. Use a coat hanger to probe the wall cavity for obstructions. If no obstructions are found with the coat hanger then the hole can be enlarged and further inspection can be done using a flashlight to check if the space is clear of obstructions. Lightly mark the wall for the rough opening you will be cutting. You can do this by holding cabinet up to the wall and drawing around the outside of the recessed portion of the cabinet or you can measure the size and transfer that information to the wall. After you have made your cutout drawing on the wall check the lines with your level to insure the hole will be cut level.
Step 2: Using shallow saw strokes carefully cut along the lines to create the rough opening. Set the cabinet into rough opening and check for proper fit and level.
Step 3: Remove cabinet from rough opening and apply provided adhesive to back of the frame. Apply adhesive around entire cabinet as shown in Figure #3.
Step 4: Reinstall cabinet into rough opening. Apply even and firm pressure to inside edge of cabinet frame to insure proper adhesion to wall board. Allow adhesive to cure for 24 hour before use.
Step 5: Congratulations! Your Recessed Cabinetry is ready for years of enjoyment.
