I purchased this piece to replace an old worktable we had in our kitchen for years. It was small and my kids had outgrown sitting in the kitchen so I found the table on kitchensource.com and LOVE it. The casters make it easy to push out of the way or roll into the dining room to serve from. The shelves add storage to where there was none before on our other worktable. The color is beautiful and the top is classic Boos. This table is how furniture should be made. Packed well and put together in 45 minutes or less. You'll need some help flipping it over, but after that, it is easy to move around (and stays put with locking casters when you want it stationary).

This John Boos table is beautiful, the butcher block top and general construction is very good.
The drawer glides that are used for that center drawer are not very good quality and we had problems with them right from the start. I've asked my husband to get some better quality glides to replace the ones it came with.
I would completely recommend the table - If I were to purchase it again it would be without the center drawer.

I looked at many kitchen Islands including pricing a custom made one before purchasing this island. For the price and quality I think it is a great product. The 30" Depth is great. Much better made than many at other stores. The top is solid unlike some others that I considered and this was a big factor. The island was not hard to put together , but an extra set of hands was very helpful. It is also heavy for one person to turn over you will need help.
My only problem is that the metal piece that fits into the bottom of the legs for the casters does not stay in. I don't think the "teeth" that should hold are long enough. For now the casters are in but not secure. I will go to the hardware store to find a solution. This would not deter me from ordering the product. I am sure this will outlast me!

Nicely manufactured table. It was delivered by UPS in four boxes, heaviest just over 70 pounds. Easy to follow directions, just 12 lag bolts and it was all put together. What is the distance between the inside of the legs? I want to be able to put two backless bar stools on the side that I can push underneath the table if needed. Also, what is the finish on the base? The distance between the inside of the legs is 36-1/2". The finish on the base is a satin finish. The expected ship time is 3-4 weeks plus transit.

The top is one piece that is 48" W x 25" D. However, it is a blended red oak material. Blended means the slats do not run the full length of the countertop. Instead the slats are in random lengths to create a blended appearance.

What is the height from the floor to the bottom of the table top frame? I'm wondering how much leg room/clearance there would be between the seat of a 24" barstool and the bottom of this table. Also, do casters add another 2 1/2 inches to the height, or when casters are added, are the legs cut down to make the overall height the same 35" as without casters? - Asked about product JB-OC4836-AL
The height from the base of the apron to the floor is 29-1/4”. The height stays the same when adding casters unless requested otherwise.
