How quiet is this fan? I realize it is commercial grade. I will be using in a residence. Should I go with the 300? My kitchen cook area is open to my living area. Please advise. Thank you. - Asked about product AK-LIN34M-600
The 600CFM is about 5.5 sones. The 300CFM is about 1.5 sones. The Sones is the sound level. The lower the sone, the quieter hood is, so a 300 will be quieter. However the CFM level is many times dictated by the local building code. Please review your local building codes to confirm what the max CFM can be.

What is the difference between the AK LIN and AK PIN range hood inserts? Are they both 'all in one' units, including the liner, controls, filters, grease traps, blower, and ducts? - Asked about product AK-LIN34M-600
The main difference between the AK-LIN and AK-PIN is that the AK-LINís are available in multiple dimensions and only two CFM options (600CFM or 1200CFM).
While, the AK-PINís come in numerous CFM options and only one dimension: 32"W x 18"D x 12"H
